Our Mission

The CBI is one of the largest microscope based imaging centers in the US, equipped with almost all light and electron optical equipment and expertise. If we don't actually have the needed equipment or assay we can generally build it.

The Center is not a traditional fee for service core facility — in almost every situation we work with research groups to build mutually funded scientific enterprise. While we can act as a fee for service resource if absolutely necessary, we avoid it as much as possible.

For the workings of the Center to be appropriately described, initial contact should always be between the PI of the research group and one of the Center faculty — see the faculty contact page. For a limited description of some of the platforms available in the Center, see the equipment page.
